Film Crush
A Club for Young Film Lovers
Rooted in my own love of film, Film Crush celebrates the art of storytelling and cultivates future generations of film lovers. Centered around a curated selection of age-appropriate films, Film Crush clubs meet weekly for a deep dive into one film and the filmmaking process. With additional elements like a Q&A with film professionals, a members’ choice film, and a mini Awards Ceremony, the experience asks kids to think critically about the stories they love and sets the stage for a lifetime of filmgoing. A pilot program is now underway with a cohort of girls, ages 9-14, and I am continuing to develop the idea with friends and colleagues in education and independent media.
Film Crush 2020 showcases five feature films and two shorts from around the world.
